Last time I checked with Jeff it was round 750 for Jib and Main in a basic 4oz dacron. I wanted to add reef points because I would like to do some bigger lake sailing and would like to take in some sail if I'm in stiffer air.
My current sail for my boat is from a Snipe. It's a tad smaller than the Falcon Main, but it gets me sailing for a lot less money then a custom made sail at the moment. The luff is shorter, which helps with boom height (I'm a bigger guy) that some people have mentioned here. The foot is also shorter. It's also a bit smaller sail area, which is OK for me, because I would rather have the control, then the speed. I don't have trouble keeping up with other boats my size in a race, especially with the genoa up.
I have 2 jibs for mine, one Genoa sized, and a smaller "g-string" jib for stiffer wind.
I've seen some around on the web for $100ish.
Good luck.

A bad day sailing is better than a good day at work...
