Hi, I have just purcased a Falcon, just looking for some information on the centerboard. I was told the lever in the cuddy controls it, but it seems to fall down by itself. Is this normal or should it only move when the lever is moved? Thanks

Welcome to the Falcon site!

Is it metal or wood?

My Falcon has an oak keel that fits snuggly in the locker. It takes a bit of a tug to pull it down, but once it's down it stays down.

Some things you might want to check is the gasket between the lever and the keel locker (shaped like a big rubber washer) to see if it has shrunk or is torn. This WILL cause water to come in when you put it in for the first time. The other thing is that the screws that apply pressure to the lever may be loose, and it's allowing the keel to fall down.

Let me know if I can help.
