Jib Sheet cleat location

Postby William » Sat Jan 19, 2013 5:38 pm

My jib sheets run through a block then through the combings to jamb cleats one on either combing just about where the seats end. I find this awkward when coming about since I usually sail alone and have to release one jib sheet and then jump across to fasten the other. I see boats on the Daysailer forum where the cleats are mounted on top of the centerboard trunk. Has anyone got their jib cleats in this location on their Falcon and does it make it easier to bring the Jib across when sailing by yourself?

William,

Take a look at the pictures in my recent post on rigging modifications. I have a couple of cam cleats mounted on a thwart I installed across between the seats just aft of the centerboard trunk. It works well for me.
